During the COP 16 panel “Regenerative Businesses for the Amazon of Latin America and the Caribbean” held at the Peru Pavilion, PVBLIC Foundation and CleantechHUB announced an ambitious expansion of their CCE Hubs Latin America network with the creation of three new hubs in Peru, Panama, and El Salvador. This significant announcement underscores the urgency of joining efforts to address environmental challenges and position Latin America as a leader in climate entrepreneurship.

Strategic Expansion in Latin America

The opening of these new hubs strengthens the global presence of the initiative in the region as part of the Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE), led by the U.S. Department of State. Adding to the already established hubs in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, as well as five other Hubs distributed globally, this expansion aims to build a robust ecosystem that facilitates innovation and the development of climate technologies capable of addressing local and regional climate challenges.

Starting in 2025, these new hubs will provide climate entrepreneurs with essential resources, specialized training, and strategic connections. Each hub is created in collaboration with key partners in each country, ensuring the development of networks that support local climate solutions:

  • CCE Hub Peru: The new hub will be hosted by the University of the Pacific in partnership with RedesignLab, the local strategic ally.

  • CCE Hub El Salvador: Supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands, which is funding the exploration of the local ecosystem and the hub’s launch.

  • CCE Hub Panama: In collaboration with local strategic allies, leading the exploration of the country's climate ecosystem.

A Call to Invest in Climate Solutions

Investing in climate solutions is an opportunity and a critical necessity to ensure a sustainable future. CCE Hubs are strategically positioned in Latin America to develop innovative solutions addressing urgent climate problems. Through local ideation and incubation programs and a regional acceleration program, entrepreneurs can transform their ideas into scalable solutions that benefit their communities and have a global impact.

The launch of the new hubs also represents an open invitation for companies, governments, multilateral organizations, and universities to join as strategic allies. Investing in climate entrepreneurship is a commitment to the future well-being of our communities, future generations, and the planet. The solutions emerging from CCE Hubs are not only innovative but designed to tackle the most pressing climate challenges in each country.

María Regina Alfaro, representative of CCE Hub Guatemala, emphasized the importance of the expansion: “Having a CCE Hub in Guatemala has been fundamental to driving local climate innovation. The connections and collaborative networks we’ve built are not only fostering sustainable solutions but are also making a real difference for the environmental future of our region.”

Norberto Hosaka, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at the University of the Pacific in Peru, commented on the importance of establishing a new hub in Peru: “It is crucial for the next hub to be established in Peru due to our strategic position and our potential to lead climate innovation in the region. Peru is highly vulnerable to climate change, which gives us a unique context to develop solutions tailored to the most urgent challenges. Additionally, we have a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and rich biodiversity that can inspire nature-based solutions. Establishing a hub in Peru will catalyze triple-impact collaboration between academia, the private sector, and government, accelerating the transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy.”

In addition to fostering climate entrepreneurship and green job creation, CCE Hubs focus on building a collaborative environment where the public, private, and academic sectors work together to develop scalable, high-impact climate solutions. Allies joining this network will support entrepreneurs who will lead the way toward a more sustainable and resilient future.

Avery Rodriguez, Partnerships Officer at the U.S. Department of State Office of Global Partnerships (E/GP), highlighted the key role that the CCE Hub program is currently playing in the climate entrepreneurship field across Latin America; ‘’Since establishing the CCE Hub program last year, the U.S. Department of State has worked with partners like PVBLIC and Cleantech Hub to meaningfully engage and build technical capacity in more than 750 entrepreneurs around the world. Additionally, these spaces are engaging almost just as many students and encouraging them to view entrepreneurship as a way to tackle the most challenging issues of our age.  We are excited to continue this collaboration and see it grow as we follow through on the U.S. Government's commitments to sustainable economic growth and climate adaptation.’’

About the Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE)
