Fashion Impact Fund to Host Reception in Celebration of Earth Month at the Residence of British Consul General In Miami

Fashion Impact Fund Grantee, Fashion Enter Ltd

Miami, FL – April 10, 2024 – On April 11, the Fashion Impact Fund, a program of the PVBLIC Foundation, will gather influential leaders from the fashion, business, and sustainability communities for a reception at the residence of the British Consulate General in Miami. Taking place during Earth Month, this reception will celebrate the strides made in the sustainable creative sector with a particular focus on climate action.

The Fashion Impact Fund supports fashion skills training programs led by women for women to achieve education, employment and economic inclusion.  The fund's multifaceted mission aims to advance women’s financial independence, combat poverty, discrimination and gender-based violence, and promote positive change within the fashion industry. By investing in fashion workforce development solutions for women, the Fashion Impact Fund can create lasting and  transformative impact on their lives, communities, and the sector globally.

The reception, supported by Avery Dennison, aims to foster collaboration, showcase innovation, and drive positive change in the fashion industry by facilitating meaningful connections between industry leaders, investors, and advocates.

Kerry Bannigan, Managing Director of the PVBLIC Foundation, shared: “Initiatives like the Fashion Impact Fund serve as catalysts for fostering ties between the USA and the UK, amplifying opportunities for shared growth and innovation. By empowering female entrepreneurs on both sides of the Atlantic, our programs not only bridge the entrepreneurship gender gap but also cultivate a more inclusive and sustainable economic landscape. Through strategic investments in fashion workforce development, we aim to propel innovation, resilience and best practices in both regions paving the way for the creative economy to trailblaze in sustainable practices on an international scale.”

Gender equality and climate change are inextricably linked.  The Fashion Impact Fund plays a crucial role in addressing critical global issues such as exploited labor, poverty, and gender inequality within the fashion industry. The fund enables women to access training, education, and opportunities in the industry, leading to economic inclusion and a more equitable and sustainable fashion sector overall. This intersection offers a unique opportunity to drive positive change and create a future where both women and the environment thrive.

The event will also acknowledge the launch of the inaugural Climate Week Miami, taking place April 22-29, hosted by CC35 in collaboration with Miami-Dade County, the PVBLIC Foundation and various partners.
