The CCE Hub Latin America is powered by PVBLIC and CleantechHUB to boost early-stage climate solutions and sustainable entrepreneurship first in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. Eventually, this initiative will expand throughout South America and the Caribbean Basin with a focus on ideation, incubation and acceleration.
This project is a part of the U.S. Department of State’s Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE), a public-private partnership that aims to address the climate crisis and contribute to economic empowerment in developing countries by nurturing entrepreneurship focused on climate solutions.
OUR FOCUS
The Program will establish a rich network crossing disciplines, backgrounds and sectors to create products, services and business solutions that address the real consequences of climate change in communities. The partnership between PVBLIC, CleantechHUB and partner universities will mobilize climate action at the subnational-level to generate awareness of social and environmental issues.
THE CCE HUB LATIN AMERICA WILL CONDUCT A 2-YEAR PROGRAM CONSISTING OF THREE COMPONENTS
Activation

Activating ideation and incubation programs for climate entrepreneurs to feed the pipeline of startups participating in the Acceleration Program.
Implementation

Design and implement a tailored acceleration program for early-stage entrepreneurs that operate within the regional context of the market.
Ecosystem Building
Building a strong ecosystem of engaged network for Climate and Sustainable Entrepreneurs aiming to leverage program-generated ideas for local community benefits.
OUR GOALS
Strengthen Climate Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (Activation):

Enhance climate activation through annual climate ideation and incubation programs at partnered universities in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, fostering innovation and transformative change for climate solutions.
Facilitate Tailored Acceleration Programs for Cleantech Startups (Implementation):

To support 30 early-stage climate start-ups from Colombia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala through a 1-year holistic Climate Accelerator Program, which helps them access capital to deploy into the markets (pilot projects), and other ecosystem support to scale up their businesses and the impacts it offers for communities.
Build a Strong Support Network for Climate Entrepreneurs (Networking and Partnerships):

To establish a robust network of entrepreneurs, partners, and community groups in Central America and the Caribbean Basin, aiming to leverage program-generated ideas for local community benefits to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate local climate impact.

INCUBATION
The CCE Hubs Incubation program is an initiative designed to support and promote the development of innovative ideas with a focus on sustainability. The program aims to address the Latin American region's climate challenges. Selected participants receive intensive training and personalized mentorship to help transform their initial ideas into viable and sustainable business models.

ACCELERATION

The CCE Hubs Acceleration program aims to help climate entrepreneurs advance their projects to the next level by preparing them to connect with potential customers and key partners. Participants undergo additional training sessions and intensive mentorship to refine their business models and make a significant impact in the fight against climate change.

Both programs will end with a competition in which participants will present their business models to a panel of experts. The most exceptional projects will be recognized at national and regional levels, helping promote climate innovation throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
OUR PARTNERS
The United States Department of State is an executive department of the U.S. federal government responsible for the country's foreign policy and relations. This project is a part of the Department of State's Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE), a public-private partnership that aims to address the climate crisis and contribute to economic empowerment in developing countries by nurturing entrepreneurship focused on climate solutions
Starting in Colombia in 2019 and Mexico in 2021, CleantechHUB aims to inspire, mobilize, connect, and catalyze green entrepreneurship through turnkey cleantech ideation, incubation, acceleration, and innovation programs. CleantechHUB has supported over 500+ early-stage climate entrepreneurs and mobilized over 3,000 climate entrepreneurship & cleantech innovation ecosystems across Central America.​
The base of operations for the project will be CleantechHUB headquarters and the Centro de Emprendimiento Externadista in Bogotá, Colombia. This is an initiative of the Faculty of Business Administration, backed by more than 20 years of experience, located in Bogota, Colombia. It is a collaborative space where entrepreneurs and experts come together to work on innovative projects.
The University has more than 50 years of experience and they are part of the LCI Education Network specializing in design, with 23 campuses on five continents and more than 15,000 students worldwide. Uniting intelligent design and technology to propose sustainable and impactful solutions, The university will host the local hub, offering the FAB Labs Véritas.
The Hub will be hosted as part of the Business Innovation Center of the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala, where ideation and creativity processes are carried out aimed at business innovation and resolution of daily problems for academic, research, and projection purposes. The infrastructure allows the completion of market research with the use of Neurolab equipment.
